It's gone. It's all gone. The world is gone. I'm gone

The ragged form collasped on the mound, it's dead, dried grass crumbeling beneth her weight. A trickle of blood bubbled from her ears running down her matted gray pelt, staning the frail white feathers of her now broken wings that lay limply, uselessly, at her side.

A wolf's ears were her life, as vital as veins and a heartbeat. Without them she wasn't a wolf. She was nothing. A tired, ugly, broken nothing

I should have rather that bullet hadn't missed

She hid her head between her paws, sobbing.

I can't lead my people without ears. How shall I hear their troubles? How shall I fight beside them

Mabey I should finish what was started

(( Not sure he's allowed on here anymore...))

It was more his curiousity, than his paws that had carried him back. That and his wish to visit his old home once more. Months had passed now, since the loss of Revy, and the pain had weakend, though he knew it would never leave. And now he wanted to visit the home he had ran from.
His eyes scanned the scene, resting on a familiar wolf. He took a step forward, but stopped, pricking up his ears as the caught a quiet sound. That of a wolf crying. He frowned and stepped forward, this time more cautiously. If she was upset, she may not appreciate him being around her. As he got closer, he let out a whine-like growl, asking if she was ok.

Paw steps, breathing, she did not hear, but thankfully, the wind managed to carry the wolf's scent to her nose.
He smelt familiar to her, perhaps someone she had meet out on the neutral lands, or someone that was in fact a pack member, but had been long absent. She didn't know.

She turned her head around slowly, locking her eyes with his in a sorrowful gaze, not sure how to react her first reaction would have been to whine a greeting, but now she wasn't sure.

As her eyes met his, he saw the pain in them. His eyes left hers and rested on her ears. He saw the blood that came from them, then he looked at her wings. They didn't look too good. Zanzibor forced his own black wings closer to his body,as if they could get injured too. She'd obviously been in some sort of trouble. "Are you ok?" He asked. Then he remembered that she was alphess and dipped his head in respect.

Her only response was a wide eyed gaze, revering him sorrowfuly in silence. She watched his mouth closely as he talked, but it was no use. She couldn't read lips, hell, wolves don't have lips.

Instead, she swallowed the growing lump in her thaot and shook her head, hoping it would provide an answer to the question he had asked.

((I know I shouldn't find it funny seeing as it's kinda a sad thread really, but this made me laugh. :) :( ))

At first he wondered why she didn't talk. Them his amber eyes flicked back to her ears. Maybe it wasn't any of the injuries he could see at the moment. Maybe whatever had caused them had done more permanant damage. He tried to think of a way to ask her, a way that would mean that she could answer, if she had lost her hearing. He could just talk. Surely if she could hear him she'd answer...But that didn't seem right. That would just seem taunting. To speak though he knew she may not hear.
He decided to keep quiet. He sat back on his haunches thoughtfully. He'd have to try speaking with his body. He nodded sadly. Trying to show her he understood. Or at least thought he did.
