Be careful not to
Drown in a Mirage.
A white figure stretches above the grasses of the steppe, bowing and loosening her taut muscles. The figure surveys the Earth from her perch upon the promontory, looking throughout the underbrush, scanning the area. No one has jurisdiction here. No one, but the wind. The wind is her President, her Dictator. And she rides the wind.
One can only ride the wind if you surrender to it.
Your own eye catches upon the white figure upon the hill, your nose catching her scent. She smells of foreign lands, the scents of nomads and wanderers. She herself is a wanderer, a nomad. You begin to creep up the side of the promontory, her sight cut off by the overhang. Scrambling unsteadily, the journey up is hard but feasible. Finally, you leap to the location of where you had seen her, the overhang no longer in your line of vision.
Face what you think you believe
and you will be surprised.
The white figure is gone. You begin to sniff at her trail, ready to persue the figure, but the scent of her presence is not there. Perhaps the wind had wisped away her scent.
Or perhaps she never was there...
